Gerry CarneySinger/Song writer and fellow Mayo man, Gerry Carney has kindly used his talented musical skills to write and record a song entitled "Safe Hands" which will be used as a fundraiser for the Croagh Patrick Challenge event. Gerry's latest album "Paddy" was released in July of last year. He was born and raised near Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo where he still resides. His infectious lyrics are testament to his ability to write about all aspects of life, some of his most recent songs echo themes of family, emigration and backward glances at one’s homeland. As well as being a talented composer and singer, Gerry is also an accomplished guitar player, having played with a number of bands and groups during the 1980s and 90s, prior to departing on a solo career.

This single will be on sale at the basecamp of Croagh Patrick throughout the entire 7 days of the Challenge. All proceeds of the sale of this CD single will be donated to the charity to help benefit children affected by Autism in Ireland.
